Heads-up: Spoilers for Episode 3 of this adventure follow below.

The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled

Episode 3 finished on a dramatic pause and presented the premier party of heroes who will branch out from the primary party to embark on their own adventure, apart from the additional parties.

The combat-focused team consists of the determined fighter (brought to life by the voice actor), Thimble (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).

The Reason for Division

With 13 cast members, it was obvious from the outset that having everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.

Hence, the opening chapters of the new season serve as an Prelude, weaving together the individual narratives before splitting into three smaller tables: Warriors, Strategists, and Questers.

The Nature of the Combat Party

According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for players who enjoy a typically action-packed fight-heavy narrative style where peaceful solutions are scarce.

At first glance, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander might seem mismatched, but the developments of the latest installment make it clear why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the warrior group.

Motivations for Departure

For one thing, the group has a clear idea where to head next after a brutal initial meeting with the enemy group.

A former ally of Thjazi—whose passing started the campaign’s events—exploited the enemy for his personal gain, breaking into the hidden lair, attacking the character, and swiping all the powerful objects to dispose of.

Casimir then cleared his liabilities and escaped to a fortified location in the northern region, above Dol-Makjar, with Cyd pursuing him.

Personal Motivations

Additionally, each member has a individual motive to leave the city Dol-Makjar:

  • The rogue, as the companion and trusted friend, desires retribution.
  • The knowledgeable figure knows the region and cautions that it is a nasty location.
  • The warrior and The healer, having resisted his relatives’ demands to kill the target and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
  • But, their reputation as prominent individuals in the influential clan could enable the team enter locations they normally couldn’t.
  • Moreover, Teor vowed a life debt to The cleric for his rescue and will now go with him everywhere.

Pursued by Authorities

Lastly, all of them are hunted by the authorities that govern Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making lingering locally dangerous:

  • The rogue and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
  • The strong figure and The healer betrayed House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
  • The target is marked for death by House Halovar.

This leaves them little choice but to head to the remote area in pursuit of the traitor.

Upcoming Developments

According to episode three’s Cooldown, we find out that the Soldiers table will not appear next week, leaving the rest of the participants to form the Explorers and Strategists tables.

Audiences can look forward to discovering which players will be where in the story’s concluding setup installment, available to watch on October 24.
