It's tough for Australia to achieve unprecedented feats.

The highest peaks have long been mastered.

We're talking about the unit that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, along with an additional six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed over three years without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, targeted by the peak baggers, are what's still available for a squad that has accomplished all there is.

It needed as late as Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase over 300, taking back their record for the largest in the female 50-over format, is, in truth, a tribute to the pitchers that have represented Australia over five decades.

It is hard for their hitters to maintain a record if never given the possibility.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the championship match and was named player of the tournament. She made sure her country would not come up short.

The question of whether this latest epic knock topped that previous effort is debatable.

Some will argue the case for the pressure of a final. Some might respond with the challenge that comes when confronting a historic chase and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What's definite is this ton was far harder to see coming.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 came as she led the batting statistics, but this performance followed six innings in India over the past few weeks in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've been watching me in training, it's been a challenging time because it appeared I lacked timing at all," commented Healy.

"Yet the moment you take the field, your competitive instincts take over and you completely engage with the contest."

Healy's fighting spirit has continuously been her great strength - and an invaluable trait in succeeding famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, out to the young fast bowler in all three matches, but this time it merely gave Healy's spark.

A single came off the opening delivery and from that point the right-hander was on her way.

"A chance to take the field and lock in a contest with her and merely enjoy the moment in that regard, kind of motivated me," said Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 deliveries - her quickest at a World Cup - and her hundred in 84 as she flogged anything short, hitting 21 fours and three maximums.

When she was out Australia needed 66 more at run per delivery - a manageable total now demanding an easy conclusion.

"To chase 330 is new territory so I am glad we have the confidence to do that now," stated Healy further.

"Ideally we won't need to repeat it but, should it happen, we know we can do it."

These statements will be the last Australia's opponents at this tournament need to hear.

Over the past five days a belief they will win from any position has only strengthened - this victory following success over Pakistan by 107-run victory despite being 76-7 at one stage.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a match against traditional opponents England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final place may likely be confirmed.

During that phase they left the previous year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - a match Healy was absent due to ruptured tissue in her foot as she led her country for the inaugural occasion at a major tournament.

So great is her will, she afterwards commented she regretted not playing with the discomfort.

However although she afterwards confessed those physical issues have postponed thoughts of retirement, this tournament is likely to be her final tournament as skipper in one-day cricket and she is hasn't yet secured an international tournament as captain.

Victory in India would lead her to the peak of her last major obstacle.
